For some reason my gps wanted to take me on the freeway to get here when I was already in Providence. Anyhow, this is tucked away in the small shopping center located behind Waffle House. The place is clean and fairly new (they said that they had been open for only 6 months). They currently have a Yelp! coupon for 10% off of everything besides beverages when you check in there. Other than the fact that they forgot to apply this discount, everything was good. My lunch company and I ordered a lot of food-- we were hungry! We had some gyoza, miso soup, house salad, soft-shell-crab maki roll, chicken katsu, and hibachi steak meal. All of it was relatively tasty. The gyoza was not as I expected, it was mostly made out of meat (very little, if any, veggies in there) and was not as crispy as I expected. It was more like a soft dumpling than a deep fried gyoza, but it was satisfactory, nonetheless. The miso soup was tasty and warm. The house salad was surprisingly crisp and the dressing was good, it tasted like some sort of creamy ginger dressing. The sushi was good and was presented well, but I think next time I will try something with fish in it. The chicken katsu was good-tasting as well, but the batter/katsu coating of the chicken fell off really easily. The portion on this chicken katsu seemed very good as well, it was sliced thin but had a good amount of food on the plate. The hibachi steak was alright. The steak was a little tough and may have been cooked a little bit too much, but it was tasy and was okay-sized for a lunch portion. I would definitely look forward to coming back to try other things there next time. I am really excited to try their nabe-soup dishes and their udon.

I have been here twice and both times it has been a great experience. The sushi was very good and fresh. They have a good selection. Much better than other sushi places in the area. Wait staff was nice and attentive. They also deliver now, so I'll be ordering from here more often.

  • Eric G.

the fish was as good as I have ever had. I've had delivery twice and both times the salmon and tuna were like butter. Mt Juliet sushi has been lack luster until now. Prices were good and the owner is very friendly.

Go here now. Seriously, see if they are open and go now. Don't bother going to any other place in MJ and no need to drive into town any more. This place is that good! Miso, yummy. White tuna, delicious! The salmon,perfect- order with ponzu. Save room for mochi! Why are you still reading? Go now!!!

My husband and I hadn't been to Hana House in awhile due to life getting in the way, so we had decided that we were going to have dinner there tonight. Nothing had changed at all...still the great friendly service as always, and our sushi was delicious! We were taken care of greatly by Stephanie and another male waiter (I don't remember his name, but he was super nice and told another table he had only been working there since February)...they both checked on us regularly, and we even got to chat with them a little when it was slow and we were the only table left. It makes me happy that we received such awesome service, and delicious food as well (the chicken tempura roll is still my favorite!). My husband and I will continue to be regulars and will return again soon! :)

I want to tell about how my families meal turned into one of the worst meals ever. How you see pitchers of tea coming and passing your table with empty glasses to fill glasses the third time to another table. But should I?. Hana if spelling it correct, Is attacking anyone who gives an honest review of the unpleasant experience i on yelp. I thought customers wouldn't be hassled. I'm not blaming Yelp But why is he allowed to respond to posters? If service, servers, and food come out at a responsible time the number of bad reviews wouldn't out number the good reviews. And a smile has never killed anyone that I know of. Don't worry about us coming back. From the looks of reviews,,don't löök formore than a,few comecback. And yes we got overcharged, but by the time we had to leave the last thing we wanted was to deal with another person who didn't know their job.

ok sushi & good rolls I tried few sushi place in Nashville so far this is the best place excellent service

  • Jay F.

We have been here several times, and have really liked the sushi. It's very fresh. And reasonably priced. Don't know if they still have 1/2 price on Sundays but how can you beat that. This is definitely one of my "go to" places

  • Debbie C.

Amazing sushi and even more impressed to find it in Mount Juliet. We would gladly drive from Nashville for more.

  • Jef S.

Fantastic sushi! We ordered assorted sushi platters and shrimp tempura and everything was very fresh and just fantastic. The fish was so fresh and just melted in our mouth. Making this part of our regular stops and definitely the best sushi that I think I've every had. Ummmm

I had just left Sprint and was starving. I usually like Fulins as my regular sushi joint or when I feel like splurging, Wasabi. However, I had seen and heard about Hana so I decided to give it a try. As so walked in, the host just handed me a menu. No smile. No welcome. I politely informed him that I wanted a to-go menu. He handed it to me. I ordered 2 rolls, was the only person there, but did not get the southern hospitality that I expect as a new customer. If I had not ordered, I would have debated leaving but I usually give restaurants the BOTD as a fmr Chili's hostess. As I left with ny order, I left a fair tip but felt really uncomfortable as I left. The two guys were watching me as I drove out of the parking lot. As for the food, I had the Alaska and Spicy Tuna. They both tasted great but I honestly think the Sushi at Fulins is just as good and Fulins menu has more variety. Therefore, I will keep my loyalties there. For Hana to be successful, I highly suggest more friendliness from the wait staff along with prioritizing your business and not creeping in the parking lot.

Hands down! The best sushi in Mount Juliet. Food always come out looking good and the best part about it is that it even taste good. The fish is always fresh and the quality is amazing. Great atmosphere, the owners, chef, and waitress is so nice. Just feels like home everytime I come.

  • Deanna L.

After we left here, I told my husband, I am not going to want to go anywhere else in Mount Juliet anymore when we come through. Best gyoza I have ever had. The sushi was amazing. You get a lot of sushi for the money (compared to some places), and the green tea ice cream was great too. We couldn't have asked for better service, either. Steven was funny, helpful, and on top of our every need before we noticed we needed it (granted, it was not busy). It seemed like the staff has fun doing their work and it made for a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back, probably every time we pass through this way.

Great sushi. Shaggy dog and deep kiss rolls are great. The service was great. The server even gave us a complimentary Fried Oreo desert.

  • Rachael C.

Stephanie was our server and she was AMAZING!!!! We had a break and we needed to be out pretty quickly. She explained to us what would be quick and how long we'd have to wait. We had delicious sushi, quickly, and a very friendly informative server! We will be back!

  • Jennifer M.

I cannot recommend this place. I have been waiting for my order for more than one hour at this point. It's beyond ridiculous. I inquired with the server and he advised me this happens every single Sunday because there is half price sushi and management apparently refuses to staff the restaurant properly. Good thing gratuity is automatically added so I can tip for the slower than molasses service I am getting. I won't be back.

  • Mac L.

Very professional of course its going to be a wait its sushi quality takes time so for the people who dont want to wait dont eat sushi. Very very good

  • Annie T.

I been here many times and never have a bad experience. The owners are very friendly and the sushi always fresh . The prices are reasonable and they have special on Sunday for rolls.

    (5)
  • Phil C.

This place is awesome! I'm not much into writing reviews but the Pink Lady roll is unbelievably good!

    (5)
  • Brent B.

Wow! I had heard good things about this place and was super excited to go on Sunday when they have all rolls half price. Boy, was I wrong. It took a good 20 minutes before a server came to give us menus and take our drink order. We ordered, of course, 3 sushi rolls(which seemed like that would be the thing they do best). It took almost 2 hours to get the food. Then it was average. I guess you get what you pay for on half off night. However, after 2 hours I was expecting something pretty spectacular. The waitress didn't seem to care at all. Neither did the "manager" (who I'm guessing is the owner's son or something). By the time we got our food, or kids were way past their ability to behave. At that point I didn't even care. In short: crappy service, average food and maybe bring a snack to enjoy while you're waiting for your food. And don't bring your kids, while adults might be able to endure 2 hours of hunger waiting for food. Kids aren't so good at that. Oh, and did I mention the server put her own tip on the bill for a PARTY OF FOUR! Who does that? Then they charged our card $10 more than the total of the check with her tip included. I guess the manager gave himself a tip too. Well, here's my tip. Stay away from this place. There are too many options for good sushi in the Nashville area to waste your time on Hana House. And anyone who has had a similar experience and given this place a good rating, needs to get out more.

  • Jasmine W.

We love this place! Half off sushi on Sunday is great! The two young servers (brother and sister) are extremely friendly and deliver EXCELLENT service, every single time. We are always served promptly and the quality of the sushi never disappoints. Small, intimate setting, we never had to wait for a table. We're from S Florida so have a bit of a discriminating palate when it comes to sushi, Hana Sushi really impressed us! This is our weekly sushi spot now!

  • Khena K.

For a strip mall sushi, it was excellent. I had the Pink Lady and Star Maki (both amazing with an edge to the Star Maki). My wife had the Godzilla and 007 which were good, but liked the others much better. (See pics of both plates) The atmosphere was what you would expect from a Sushi place. Clean and for a Sunday at 11am, we saw a lot of Togo traffic. Restaurant was about 1/4 full. Service was great and very nice. Overall a great experience. We'll definitely be back.

  • G W.

This place... I think the whole deal is just really shoddily run. First off, only TWO servers on half-off sushi Sunday? Please! You need to hire some more staff. The server herself was very nice, but obviously had too many tables, so this is obviously a management problem. SECONDLY the crab on the sushi rolls is imitation! What the hell??? Yeah, that "special" sushi roll had BETTER be half off. I hate imitation crab so this was a total deal breaker for me. Plus, when the menu says soft-shell crab and is priced as such...there's some serious dishonesty going on here. Do you think I'm some dumb white girl who can't tell the difference between real and fake crab? Psssht, please!

    (1)
  • Monica B.

Waited 40 minutes for our food. Finally got it... imitation crab. :( Then we got our check and gratuity had already been added. We were at a table of two so that is unacceptable. Overall, a terrible experience. We will not be going back.

  • Jenn R.

I'm only giving this place 1 star because 0 isn't an option. The place was a nightmare from the second we walked in the door. We were immediately seated at a table but not even given a menu. 20 minutes later we were finally greeted by Stephanie. After placing our order, which we were rushed through and couldn't ask any questions, we waited 2 hours for our food. 2 hours! When I asked what was going on, Stephanie chuckled at me and said "It's Sushi". So two hours after ordering, we finally get our food that was mediocre at best. We had to rush through eating as we had kids with us who had lost all ability to sit still at the 1 hour mark. Then the best part, Stephanie sits our check down on the table without even a word. Our check was $33 with an $8 gratuity already added. No signs anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu saying they automatically add gratuity. I let it go as I would have tipped anyway and paid the $41 check. The next morning, I take a look at my bank statement and was charged $52. Apparently after we left, Stephanie decided to add herself and additional $11 tip to my card. I never dreamed I would encounter something like this and have no idea where my copy of the receipt is. So, they just stole essentially $19 from me. They're thiefs. I would stay far away from this place.

So yummy and worth the price. Great sushi, miso soup was not hot. Fast delivery, coming to Hermitage.

Pretty good food nice clean little place.. The staff was really nice.. Was very happy to find the salmon and tuna to not be fishy. For a land locked state I was happy.

3.5 stars here, really. The sushi was good, but I wasn't blown away. I was disheartened when I ordered the Caterpillar roll, asked to add cream cheese, and then there was almost no eel inside. I was also a little disappointed because I was ordering based on the Yelp! photos they had, and yet they weren't prepared to look like the Yelp! photos. For instance I ordered the kiss of fire, which came out just as a regular ol' roll, not on the tasting spoons, and they really could have as they weren't super busy. I realized that the pictures had been taken by the staff and are the same ones on the menu. Food was good, presentation not as advertised, but I'll be back when I don't feel like driving into the city for Samurai.

I have been to China and had official Chinese food, but for American made Chinese food I think it is very well, except for the soup.

Another couple called and asked if the hubby and I were interested in having half price sushi on a Sunday afternoon...... You've definitely piqued my interested with the word sushi, but you won my heart with "half price". So we jump into the car and make the haul to Mt. Juliet (just kidding, it's only a few miles from our humble abode). With visions of 50% off dancing in our heads, we order five or six rolls. Unfortunately I neglected to take photos that day so I cannot recall everything that we ate. I can; however, tell you that the monkey roll (a vegetarian roll with asparagus) was a favorite. With the specialty rolls also being included on the half price deal, we were able to try many things at a mere fraction of the cost. And apparently this is the deal each and every Sunday! Service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was fresh and tasty. It wasn't the best sushi I've had in town, but it certainly was up there and better than some of the places I've been. It was a solid effort and I put forth the same in eating it. I highly recommend you give it a go - especially with the sushi being half price on Sundays. It gives you an opportunity to try things you normally would not want to spend $12 - $15 on because you just aren't sure you'd like it. It is a lot less painful when you are getting that deep discount. Go, eat, enjoy!

My Husband and I moved here from Dallas and were afraid after being in Hermitage for 6 weeks we weren't going to find a great Sushi/Habachi Restaurant, we were wrong! Hana Sushi House is amazing. Sunday's are half price sushi and every roll I have had is amazing. My husband loves the Habachi steak. We have only scratched the surface on the menu options! This is our new place every weekend :)

  • Brenda T.

Love this place! Really great sushi and good hibachi too. Prices are very reasonable and service has been great every time we come in.

As soon as we walked we loved it. We are new to the area and we looked for a sushi place and came up on this one. The guy that greeted us was great. He made suggestions and was very friendly. Many different choices, and all the food was wonderful. I would put a little more in the spicy tuna but overall it was fresh. I give the place 5 stars. Will go back!

  • Allison B.

Fantastic! I used their delivery service, and it was to my apt in 30 mins! I got the shrimp and chicken habachi combo, and wow! The BEST fried rice! Def going here instead of Wasabi now. So delicious

Great sushi. Tried the shaggy dog and sexy girl roll. It was so good, we decided to come back for half priced sushi Sunday. ...

  • Meghan O.

Waited two hours on food. Asked waiter several times if the food was on its way and was reassured that it was "being made as we speak." Not sure why it took so long as the restaurant only has about 15 tables. Maybe they should take care of their in-house guests prior to making to-go orders. Was even more surprised that we were not offered some sort of discount or compensation for our wait. Won't be going back there... Too many other good sushi restaurants in the area to deal with mismanagement.

  • Kenli H.

Love this place! My husband and I love going here. My favorite is the Pink Lady Roll. He doesn't like sushi, so he gets the Hibachi Chicken - yum! The whole place is spotless. Prices are very reasonable. The waiters are so nice. Definitely would recommend to anyone! .

  • James P.

We went to Hana on the recommend of a Yelp review and could not have been happier. Food was great, including the presentation (see photo, post a few bites). The staff was great and welcoming, as well as, telling us about their delivery and weekly specials. It's close to home so we will be back...a lot!

Go on Sundays for half price all sushi!! Their rolls are delicious and they have a large selection. My favorite was the Pink Lady roll.

  • Andrew G.

Our new favorite sushi restaurant! This place was wonderful. The sushi was very fresh especially the sweet shrimp and scallops. We will definitely be back!!

  • Ariel F.

This place has some good deals-half price sushi on Sundays, and coupons you can get from their takeout menu, to use on take out or while eating in. However. I'm just giving this place three stars because their menu describes their sushi rolls as being made with "soft shell crab", but every time I've gotten rolls there they are made from imitation krab. The soft shell crab rolls are priced as though they're made with real actual crab ($12-14), so it's a big let down.

  • Chris R.

Service and sushi were excellent as always. It is nice to have such quality sushi in this area of town. We own our own restaurant and would recommend them to everyone.

my husband got us a group on for here, so we made a little date night out of it. we love sushi (well he loves sushi, he says what i like isn't "real" sushi---joy rolls, california rolls, etc), and so we were really excited to try this place, a change up from fulin's (which is awesome). i ordered a bowl of udon noodles chicken and also a "market roll"--avocado, cucumber, and it was topped with spicy crab meat. this was pretty awesome, and the udon noodle bowl i ordered was huge...like 3 people could have shared it huge. he ordered.....well, i can't remember, it was some "real" sushi entree, which had a mixture of sushi on it. he also ordered a bowl of miso soup that came with his dish--he said this was awesome, and they brought me a tiny salad with this incredible ginger dressing. oh yeah! we also ordered an appetizer of tempura shrimp--which was amazing. there's a full bar here, but i wasn't in a drinking mood, so we didn't check it out. they have tasty, clean, cold water though ;) service was great.

  • Barbra M.

I love this place! The service is always amazing and I am always pleased with the food. I usually get the Maki Combo A, and sub a second Eel Roll for the California Roll. You HAVE to try the seaweed salad and their mochi! Chocolate is my favorite. The owner and I recently had a conversation about the possibility of him bringing Boba to the shop!!! This would be one of the greatest things to come to Mount Juliet.

  • Kerry P.

Go! This placed may be tucked away behind the Cracker Barrel but once you find it, you'll never forget. I have had a problem finding sushi varieties in nashville but hana has so many roll choices! We went with the $5 chicken hibachi lunch, a cherry blossom, and the summer roll (we are big tuna fans). The hibachi was full of flavor and their yum yum sauce is amazing. The fried rice is just like my Thai friends homemade recipe. The chicken was a little tough but the flavor made up for it. The rolls were standard size but very fresh. They only have low sodium soy sauce which impressed me. :) the service was very welcoming! You save 10% using cash. score. The atmosphere was very clean and cool. Only problem, we were the only ones there at lunch. Check it out!

We visited Hana Sushi House today for lunch and loved it. I had the Hibachi chicken which came with soup or salad. I had the salad with my entree. Nice side salad and I loved the dressing. My husband and nephew had sushi - Spicy Crab Meat roll, California roll and the Spicy Salmon roll. Let's just say my new fav is the Spicy Crab Meat roll (even though I didn't order sushi- there was plenty to share and we had some leftover). The restaurant is decorated beautifully and has a really nice atmosphere. I agree with Johnny G. that when people find out about Hana's they will be pouring in. I can't wait to go back and try the Spider Roll and the Pink Lady and Sexy Girl rolls. Great place to hang out with friends and/or family. We had great service - thanks to Michelle. She was able to answer questions we had regarding the sushi and sashimi. Go check it out if you are in the area. Even though the location may not be seen from the main road or the interstate, if you have great food - people will find you and they will come back. We will be back soon.

I came here with 3 other adults a toddler and an infant. My baby of course doesn't need to order off the menu. My toddler really is considered just 1/2 person. So technically it was 4 and 1/2 of us. We were seated in a table with just 4 chairs. So of course we moved ourselves to an EMPTY bigger table with more chairs. We came on a Sunday and based on yelp reviews all sushi rolls are 1/2 off. The service is very slow. The server kept telling us how he needs to juggle many things all at one time and that he hasn't eaten since 9am. The sushi was very good. We ordered dragon roll, dynamite roll, hana special roll, cherry blossom, udon and beef teriyaki. The sushi like I said was very good. The yaki soba wasn't very good. The veggies were overcooked. Beef teriyaki had a great flavor but the brown sauce still had clumps that weren't mixed well. The sushi were very good, they were 1/2 off you can also do eat all you can which I think is $25 but because of the very slow service you won't get your money's worth. So if I were you don't do eat all you can. The main reason why I don't think I will be back is how slow the service is and the fact that a 15% gratuity was added to our bill. I wouldn't probably give a tip at all because of how slow it was and how I didn't like the server's attitude. There were 4 other tables that were occupied but we stayed there an hour and a half because we were waiting for the food. Oh and the Kani salad and miso soup that came with the soba and beef teriyaki were disgusting. That wasn't Japanese mayo, that was mustard with mayo. And the miso soup was the worst I've ever had. After a couple minutes the sediments of the soup settled at the bottom of the bowl. It actually tasted like smoked wood. The hot tea came in tepid. I don't know if they usually add 15% gratuity or was it because we had 4 adults and 2 kids in our table? That doesn't justify the 15% gratuity. My infant stayed in her car seat beside my husband and my toddler didn't make any Mess at the table. He didn't eat much of the yaki soba noodle. The service was very slow. Yes we ordered a lot of sushi but they were 1/2 off. Don't advertise 1/2 off sushi if you won't be prepared to make a lot. So the 15% gratuity didn't justify the kind of service we got. I really wanted to order the banana tempura and my sister wanted to try the mochi ice cream but I think it will take another 30-45mins of wait in that place. No thanks. So yeah, we probably won't be back. Next time if I really want great sushi with top notch service I'd go to wasabi which is very close to this place.

I would have never guessed that a really good sushi restaurant would be located in Mt Juliet Tennessee, but Hana Sushi House is pretty legit. It is ran my a Chinese family from New York and they do it right. With over 20 specialty rolls to choose from you will find something that hits the spot. I'd drive from Nashville to eat here.

Hands down the best sushi in Hendersonville! Fresh light and a decent grade of fish. We had the edamame, chicken sticks, Boston Roll, and Spicy Tuna. The bar area features happy fish a flat screen and busy hands rolling your dinner. It is in a strip mall and has very simple decor, but makes up in flavors. This is the only option for sushi lovers in the area and we are so thankful. The flavors compliment and pop in your mouth. The only feed back is to make the bar area taller so you can see the sushi bar area.

I'm tempted to give this place one star - no, it wasn't bad at all - On the contrary it was great. Bear with me. My companions and I sat at the sushi bar on a Sunday afternoon. They ordered the lunch special with 3 rolls each. That included Miso soup (well prepared, nice and hot), and three rolls. I ordered a seaweed salad, spicy tuna roll, and a dragon roll - all safe places to start at a brand new sushi joint. We were not disappointed with anything. Our meal started with a small cucumber salad compliments of the sushi chef. While the mayo was a bit overwhelming I thought it was a nice touch to be greeted when the business has a ways to go before they start putting money in their pockets - actually it's a nice touch at any stage in a restaurants' life. The sushi is well executed with fresh fish and quality nori. Nori is important to me because it's a good gauge of the seriousness of the owners. In this case I observed plenty of seriousness. Granted there were more staff than customers but the service was outstanding. Sometimes you may find a new restaurant with a staff that are not fully trained or may be too shy to speak up and ask how things are - not the case here! I think everyone in the restaurant was genuinely concerned about how our experience was going. Ok, so why would I be tempted to rate them only one star? Because 1. they just opened 2. there are hardly any customers, and 3. they have an ongoing 20% discount during the grand opening! I want to be selfish enough to keep it all to myself because I predict these guys will be packed very soon. I don't want to wait in line for my sushi! Selfish? Yes. Yes it is. On the other hand they have to have customers to stay in business. Understood. Located in an awkward space behind the cracker barrel and waffle house in Mt Juliet I highly recommend Hana Sushi House based on our first visit. I'm so glad Mt Juliet has one more great restaurant to impress this chef. Folks, this is the real deal. I've eaten and hundreds of sushi restaurants around the country and I left impressed. Hana Sushi FTW!!

Amazing sushi. Nice environment. Love the decor. I had the shaggydog roll. It was heaven. I highly recommend it. Service was friendly and quick. Clear view roll was also very tasty. Volcano roll was alright. Overall a great experience. I will definitely be back.

I ate here for lunch on a Monday. They weren't busy at all. The service was fast & friendly. I got the spicy tuna roll. It was good, not great. I don't care for when they shred the tuna in a food processor, it comes out with a baby food consistency. I also got the scallops with rice for 8.95. That comes with 4 regular sized scallops. They were cooked well, not squashy & not too firm. The rice is cooked well & full flavored. The veggies could use a few more minutes cooking. The yum yum sauce has an odd taste, almost like chewing on yellow school pencils. A nice place, but not on the top of my list.

When one thinks good sushi, one might not think of going all the way out to Mt Juliet for it. However, this place is toe-to-toe with the best Nashville has to offer. Everything is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is very nice, and for what you pay, the quantity and quality are beyond what I expected. I look forward to making this my new go-to sushi place after moving out to the Hermitage area.

I just left hana sushi house. It was absolutely amazing. I just moved here from Cookeville, TN and was trying to find a sushi place that was up to par with the sushi restaurants up there. I told my fiance about it after looking up reviews on yelp and I'm so happy with myself for choosing Hana. I devoured my food so fast I realized I forgot to take a picture. It was beautiful. I ordered the King Roll. I will definitely take a pic next time. You also couldn't beat the service. Everyone was super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. We will prob go back on a Sunday because that is their half price day on EVERYTHING. If you're looking for upscale sushi and great service, definitely try Hana Sushi House. :)

While the sushi was fresh, it wasn't special or extraordinary. I liked their miso soup and the calamari, but my boyfriend disliked both. Their salad dressing was a little gritty and gross. The sushi chef did get the orders a little wrong, and one of my rolls ended up on my boyfriend's plate, and vice versa. Again, the sushi was okay, but not memorable. I would go again if I was nearby and if I had a coupon or something, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

My wife and daughter and I visited Hana this past Friday night. We will definitely go back. First of all, the restaurant itself gives a great first impression. It is well designed and decorated. The staff was friendly and we sat right down. Service was excellent. About the food...My wife and I are big fans of Japanese/sushi, so we don't grade on a curve. If it's not really good, we don't go back. Mt. Juliet has two other Japanese restaurants (a third just closed a few weeks ago), and we have pretty much written them off. Hana's food was really good. The miso soup was hot and flavorful. Miso soup from some restaurants is little more than dishwater. Not so here. My 9 year old loved the kid's steak hibachi dinner. My wife and I ordered sushi rolls and they were well made and tasty. One more note...these guys are new in town. Unfortunately, there was another short-lived sushi place in Mt. Juliet a few years back with a similar name. It was horrible and didn't last very long. These are NOT the same guys. Maybe they should have done some better marketing research, who knows. We met Tom, one of the owners, Friday night. He had no idea of the other place when they named this one. PROS: - Good food - Great service - Nice atmosphere CONS: - A bit pricey - Potentially poor choice in name We recommend this place and will return.

Do not go here! This sushi place is a nightmare. Sushi was awful and the owner doesn't know anything about Sushi. Dont waste your money just go to fulins or wasabi if you are craving sushi in the providence area. It is the worst run asian food I have ever eaten.

A friend suggested this place this week and I loved it! I eat Japanese often and this was amazing! It was also VERY affordable in comparison to other hibachi/sushi places. It's a little hard to find (tucked behind Ruby Tuesdays), but I will drive across town to eat there again!

This place is AWEFUL! We are avid sushi eaters so my wife and I and a group of friends were extremely excited to try this place, especially considering all the good reviews. Plus, there was a Groupon deal and a Scout Mob. So 4 of us show up, and there might have been 1 other person there on Saturday night at 6, but other than that it was deserted. We know the rules of Groupon (only 1 deal per table) but thought we'd ask if we could use them anyway. Lots of restaurants are flexible on this and weve have had no problems doing this in the past. We were given a very curt No here, though. I was a little surprised considering the place is brand new and was a ghost town on Saturday night. But, ok ... So we just decided to have 1 couple use the groupon and one use the Scoutmob. Again, we were given a curt no by the manager who could not care less if we left happy or not. We order some over priced, bland sushi and leave very disappointed. Then my wife writes a review about our experience on Groupon (similar to what I've written here, only she liked the sushi a little better than I did) and the response from Hana House was, "Wow. I guess the rule on the Groupon just doesn't apply to you, huh?" Ha! No, Hana House, the rules apply, obviously. I was just hoping that since you are overpricing your bad sushi and no one is there on Saturday night, that you might be a little flexible ... Like your competitors. Or at least a little more aware of your level of customer service. But thank you for confirming our decision to never come back.

I've been waiting a long time for a good sushi joint to come in to the Providence area, and now we finally have one! Hana Sushi House did not disappoint on my first visit this past weekend. First and foremost, the food was delicious. The quality of the sushi ingredients (the fish, rice, and nori) were all high quality. The rolls were prepared beautifully. So far we've ordered the sweet potato roll, asparagus roll, and chicken tempura roll. I would recommend all three. I also sampled the eel roll that my sister ordered, and it was delicious as well with an extremely tasty eel sauce. They have a very large variety of sushi options on the menu, and I can't wait to try some others on my next visit. If you aren't in the mood for sushi, they have a great variety of non-sushi options as well. Those include noodle dishes (udon and soba) and hibachi entrees. My husband ordered the chicken hibachi lunch and was kind enough to let me sample. The chicken, fried rice, and hibachi vegetables were all delicious. They were cooked perfectly (not over-done), served at the right temperature, and portions were generous for a lunch order. We also tried the Harumaki (Japanese spring rolls), which were fantastic. They were nice and crispy, not greasy, and were served with a sweet sauce that was different from any spring roll sauce I've had before. I'll have to try it again to try and figure out what was in it. They do also offer children's hibachi lunches, and the portions there were huge as well. Most of the entrees, and the maki lunch specials, come with soup or salad. The miso soup was very flavorful, and served nice and hot. The ginger dressing served on the house salad is excellent, and truly has an intense ginger flavor. They've created a nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. It's not huge inside, but feels spacious. I loved that they had traditional Japanese music playing, as it always throws me off to be in a sushi restaurant playing American radio or classic rock. I also love that I can go here and get the sushi I crave while my husband can get the hibachi entrees or chicken katsu that he loves, and we can do that in a nice quiet atmosphere. Here, the hibachi entrees are all cooked in the kitchen, so there are no large, noisy hibachi tables in the restaurant itself. I love hibachi food as well, but sometimes you just aren't in the mood to sit at a big table with a bunch of strangers or deal with the noise. I encourage everyone to give Hana Sushi a try!

I love trying new sushi restaurants and was very disappointed with this place. The waiter forgot my roll, so I waited an extra 10 minutes or so while the rest of the table ate. I had the dragon roll, which tasted "off" and was mostly just rice. We had a coupon we had received in the mail for 20% off our entire bill. We showed it to the waiter and he said we didn't need it, that they would give us the discount. Well, it turned out the discount they gave us was 20% off the sushi rolls, not our appetizer or drinks. That meant we spent $5-6 more than we would have if they had let us use our coupon. I will not be going back to Hana Sushi House. **In response to the restaurant's comment...the coupon clearly states "20% off ENTIRE BILL (excludes alcohol, sashimi, and all-you-can-eat." Our drinks were not alcoholic. And no, the appetizer exclusion is not standard across all restaurants. Please at least know what your own coupons say.

My husband and I ate here tonight after seeing a movie in Providence, and boy, am I glad we did! I had been wanting to try Hana Sushi House for awhile now, and tonight had the opportunity to do so. I ordered the California roll and the Godzilla roll, with the house salad to start. My husband ordered a hibachi meal, which came with soup and salad. All items were wonderful! We had a sweet waitress (I think her name was Amanda??) and truly enjoyed our visit. We will be back!

They also deliver now, so I'll be ordering from here more often.

the fish was as good as I have ever had. I've had delivery twice and both times the salmon and tuna were like butter. Mt Juliet sushi has been lack luster until now. Prices were good and the owner is very friendly.

I look forward to making this my new go-to sushi place after moving out to the Hermitage area.

my husband got us a group on for here, so we made a little date night out of it. we love sushi (well he loves sushi, he says what i like isn't "real" sushi---joy rolls, california rolls, etc), and so we were really excited to try this place, a change up from fulin's (which is awesome). i ordered a bowl of udon noodles chicken and also a "market roll"--avocado, cucumber, and it was topped with spicy crab meat. this was pretty awesome, and the udon noodle bowl i ordered was huge...like 3 people could have shared it huge. he ordered.....well, i can't remember, it was some "real" sushi entree, which had a mixture of sushi on it. he also ordered a bowl of miso soup that came with his dish--he said this was awesome, and they brought me a tiny salad with this incredible ginger dressing. oh yeah! we also ordered an appetizer of tempura shrimp--which was amazing. there's a full bar here, but i wasn't in a drinking mood, so we didn't check it out. they have tasty, clean, cold water though ;) service was great.

We have been here several times, and have really liked the sushi. It's very fresh. And reasonably priced. Don't know if they still have 1/2 price on Sundays but how can you beat that. This is definitely one of my "go to" places

We went to Hana on the recommend of a Yelp review and could not have been happier. Food was great, including the presentation (see photo, post a few bites). The staff was great and welcoming, as well as, telling us about their delivery and weekly specials. It's close to home so we will be back...a lot!

Waited 40 minutes for our food. Finally got it... imitation crab. :( Then we got our check and gratuity had already been added. We were at a table of two so that is unacceptable. Overall, a terrible experience. We will not be going back.

Fantastic sushi! We ordered assorted sushi platters and shrimp tempura and everything was very fresh and just fantastic. The fish was so fresh and just melted in our mouth. Making this part of our regular stops and definitely the best sushi that I think I've every had. Ummmm

They are very artistic with their plating. Enjoyed the scallops hibachi and wife had one of the sushi dishes. Then desert. All was incredible edibles.

They also deliver now, so I'll be ordering from here more often.

the fish was as good as I have ever had. I've had delivery twice and both times the salmon and tuna were like butter. Mt Juliet sushi has been lack luster until now. Prices were good and the owner is very friendly.

We love this place! Half off sushi on Sunday is great! The two young servers (brother and sister) are extremely friendly and deliver EXCELLENT service, every single time.

We have been here several times, and have really liked the sushi. It's very fresh. And reasonably priced. Don't know if they still have 1/2 price on Sundays but how can you beat that. This is definitely one of my "go to" places

Love this place! My husband and I love going here. My favorite is the Pink Lady Roll. He doesn't like sushi, so he gets the Hibachi Chicken - yum! The whole place is spotless. Prices are very reasonable. The waiters are so nice. Definitely would recommend to anyone! .

We went to Hana on the recommend of a Yelp review and could not have been happier. Food was great, including the presentation (see photo, post a few bites). The staff was great and welcoming, as well as, telling us about their delivery and weekly specials. It's close to home so we will be back...a lot!

I look forward to making this my new go-to sushi place after moving out to the Hermitage area.

my husband got us a group on for here, so we made a little date night out of it. we love sushi (well he loves sushi, he says what i like isn't "real" sushi---joy rolls, california rolls, etc), and so we were really excited to try this place, a change up from fulin's (which is awesome). i ordered a bowl of udon noodles chicken and also a "market roll"--avocado, cucumber, and it was topped with spicy crab meat. this was pretty awesome, and the udon noodle bowl i ordered was huge...like 3 people could have shared it huge. he ordered.....well, i can't remember, it was some "real" sushi entree, which had a mixture of sushi on it. he also ordered a bowl of miso soup that came with his dish--he said this was awesome, and they brought me a tiny salad with this incredible ginger dressing. oh yeah! we also ordered an appetizer of tempura shrimp--which was amazing. there's a full bar here, but i wasn't in a drinking mood, so we didn't check it out. they have tasty, clean, cold water though ;) service was great.

  • Celeste H.

A friend suggested this place this week and I loved it! I eat Japanese often and this was amazing! It was also VERY affordable in comparison to other hibachi/sushi places. It's a little hard to find (tucked behind Ruby Tuesdays), but I will drive across town to eat there again!

Fantastic sushi! We ordered assorted sushi platters and shrimp tempura and everything was very fresh and just fantastic. The fish was so fresh and just melted in our mouth. Making this part of our regular stops and definitely the best sushi that I think I've every had. Ummmm
